Majid Michel Erawack “Shaker” (born September 22, 1980) is a Ghanaian actor. He found mainstream success following his performance in the movie Divine Love co-staring, Jackie Aygemang (nee Appiah) and Van Vicker.

Majid is consistently cited as one of the best up and coming actors in Ghana today, but is also viewed as being overshadowed and overlooked by the media, in favor of Van Vicker. Majid was born in Cantonments, Accra, Ghana, the son of Michel Erawoc, a Lebanese business man, and a Ghanaian mother, Paulina Olympio who works for Ghana Review International.

In a recent interview, Majid indicated that the name Erawoc was a title won by his father while doing work in India. Majid chose to drop the name Erawoc from his last name professionally. Along with his other nine siblings, Majid grew up in Accra, Ghana. He attended St. Theresa’s Primary School, and later, the elite Mfantsipim School, the alma mater of Van Vicker and also of Former United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.

In secondary school, Majid was actively involved in theater and was a member of the school’s Drama Club. As a member of the drama club, Majid received a Best Actor Award in one of their performances on Emancipation Day in Cape Coast, Ghana. Majid entered professional acting by chance. He was invited to join the modeling agency, Super Model Agency, on the behest of his next door neighbour.

The director of the modeling agency, now turned producer, invited him to participate in a new TV series (GTV), dubbed
Things We Do for Love. Majid acquired his nickname “Shaker” on the set. His role on Things We Do for Love, was to be played by a Lebanese boy, and Majid attributes his acquiring the role to his Lebanese heritage. Things We Do for Love, became a success and propelled Majid into the mainstream. On the strength of his performance in Things We Do for Love, Majid was cast in his first movie Divine Love as the male lead, alongside Jackie Aygemang as the female lead with Van Vicker in a supporting role.

All three used their roles in the movie to debut their movie careers.Divine Love was a huge success turning Majid Michel, Jackie Aygemang, and Van Vicker into household names across Ghana and to a large extent Nigeria.

During his childhood days, Majid admired Arnold Schwarzenegger, an Austrian-American former bodybuilder, actor, businessman, and politician, currently serving as the 38th Governor of the state of California. He often called his idol the "commando". He gets his insipiration from Al pacino, an Italian actor who starred in the Academy award winning movie the Godfather and Scarface. Majid displays his admiration of Al Pacino in his role in the 2007 hit " Crime to Christ" where he patterened the behavior of Tony Montana. When it comes to life and the spiritual realm, Majid's whole source of inspiration is from the Bible. He states "What makes me move everyday and do what I do is that breath I have in me. And the source of that breath is Jesus Christ."

Majid admits that he was not very fond of school at a young age. He claims that his happiest moments were often during the weekend. Acting has always been on his mind from a very young age.
Majid is currently a student at the Academy of screen arts. He took interest in this school because he wanted to update and upgrade his acting abilities. Majid is also an aspiring movie director and producer and is hoping to make movie hits of his own. In an interview, Majid states "No one knows what will happen tomorrow. I just wish and pray to God that I will start making my own movies and not acting anymore. And I hope that by the grace of God all I wish and desire will come to pass."

Because of a few of his movie roles, especially his role in the movie The Playboy, Majid knows that some women view him as a "womanizer". Majid made it clear that his on screen roles do not depict who he really is as a person. Majid is a "one- woman" man and is currently in a relationship with Gavivina Tamakloe, who played alongside him in the movie: Crime to christ as his sister. They are soon expecting a little bundle of joy.
When asked by an interviewer what his greatest wish in life was, Majid's response was " I want wisdom, knowledge and understanding as King Solomon had. Just that I don't want many wives as he had (Laughing)."

He also encourages other Ghanaian actors/actresses to continue to develop their repertoire of the English language and become more eloquent speakers. He believes that by doing so, Ghanaian actors will be able to comfortably venture out into the film industry of not only Africa but the rest of the World. Majid realizes that he too should take his own advice.

In his leisure time, Majid enjoys swimming and martial arts, specifically Karate.
